The History

My mom and dad started me singing at a young age, teaching me gospel singing.  They were both involved in our church's singing group, so I began with their lyric sheets from church.  At age 11, I joined my school choir.  At 14, I became part of the Pepsi Singers...performing around the Louisville, Kentucky area and in Chicago.  We performed for the governor of Kentucky and we were televised twice a year at Christmas.

I was co-director of choir Jefferson Community College in Louisville.  I then became part of the New Bethel choir and Praise & Worship Team.  Throughout my life, I have been influenced by various styles of music - including gospel, country, pop and R&B.  Groups and singers like The Judds, Mariah Carey, Heart, Lionel Richie, Kenny Rogers, Whitney Houston and New Edition were some of my various influences.  I feel like my style is a blend of all the music I have enjoyed over the years.

In 1999, I focused my musical dream.  I started writing with my best friend Lorrie and a guitar player.  We wrote contemporary Christian music of all styles.  Later that year, after parting ways with the guitarist, I met Doug Weaver.  Lorrie, Doug, and myself started writing a blend of contemporary Christian and country music.  In January of 2000, Doug and I moved to Nashville to "chase that neon rainbow", with Lorrie following sometime in the future?  :o)

After 3 weeks in Nashville, I started performing live three nights a week at Jesse Zane's Nashville Nights.  I have played at the Bluebird Cafe and the Broken Spoke Cafe.  Now my focus is primarily on my writing and completing my CD.
